Bandwagon · Updated October 31, 2026

The short version

Bandwagon has no accounts, collects no personal information, and contains no advertising or tracking. What you set up stays on your devices, except your followed teams and alert choices if you turn on Alerts.

What stays on your devices

Your streaming services, leagues, followed teams, home market, reminders and display choices are stored on the device. If you're signed in to iCloud, Apple syncs those settings between your iPhone and Apple TV through iCloud Key-Value Storage, under your Apple Account. We can't read them; Apple's iCloud terms govern that storage.

Your home market

If you tap Use my location, the app reads your location once to find your ZIP code. Only the five digits of the ZIP are sent to our server, which answers with the TV market and the teams local to it. We don't store the ZIP or the lookup. You can type a ZIP instead, or skip the market entirely.

Installed apps

To pre-fill your services, the app asks the system whether certain streaming apps can be opened on this device. That check happens on the device and is never sent anywhere.

What the app downloads

Schedules and scores come from our server. Team and league logos load from ESPN's image servers and app icons from Apple's App Store, so, like any image download, those servers see your IP address. The schedule server keeps no record of who asked. When you tap Watch on an ESPN game, the app asks ESPN's servers directly for that game's stream, sending only ESPN's own number for the game, so ESPN sees your IP address.

Anonymous counts

To learn what to fix and what to add, the app sends our server anonymous counts: that the app was opened, which league a game was in when you opened it or tapped Watch, whether a Watch button worked, how many services you picked during setup, and searches that found nothing. Once a day it also sends the date the app was installed on that device, so we can see how many people come back. They carry no account, device identifier or location, nothing ties one count to another, and the server keeps only daily totals. You can turn them off in Settings, under Privacy.

Reminders

Kickoff reminders are local notifications scheduled on the device. Nothing leaves it.

Alerts

Alerts are off unless you turn them on in Settings. When you do, the app sends our server the push token Apple gives it for notifications, your followed teams, your alert choices, your quiet hours and your time zone, so the server knows which moments to tell you about. It stores them under a scrambled form of the token, with no name, email, account or other identifier. Turn Alerts off and the app tells the server to delete them; if Apple reports the token is no longer valid, the server deletes them on its own. Alerts are sent through Apple's push service and never include the score.

Other apps

Tapping Watch opens another app or a website. From that moment you're under that service's privacy policy, not this one.

Children

Bandwagon is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
